By foot

It's a 8,7 km journey. So by foot you'll be walking 1h and 49 minutes.

By wheelchair

Even by wheelchair, it's a lot to drive. If you're fast, then there's a chance that you'll be with us within 30- or 40-ish minutes.

By train

Not an accessible option. The train station in the area is the one in Ekeren. It's 4,7 km away from the sports hall by car, which is a 12-minute drive. Or 16 minutes with a bicycle.

By bicycle

This should take you 30 minutes. In kilometers, it's a little longer. The bicycle road is 9,1 km from the central station.

By carpooling

It’s the most recommended way of travelling if you’re able to. There are many cars and even scooters that are share-able.

The Park & Ride terrain in Merksem is a great parking to park your car. It’s 5 minutes by car from our sports hall, 9 minutes when you use a bicycle, 15-ish minutes with a wheelchair and 28 minutes by foot. To park here, you’ll have to pay €1,- per day.

The address is:
Bredabaan 965
2170 Merksem

By car

In 18 minutes (probably a little longer) you could arrive in the sports hall. But be aware! You can’t just go in Antwerp with any car or park anywhere. Since this August, parking plans have changed in Antwerp.

We suggest visiting the next websites before entering Antwerp:

By bus

From the central station it’s an 11 minutes walk to the bus stop where bus #640 will come to. It’s one bus you could take right to the sports hall, without having to switch over to another. You should stay for 19 stops on the bus (which takes 28 minutes). Then you get out of the bus at the bus stop near the location. There will be a 4-min walk to the entrance of the sports hall.

Bus stop to sports hall from central station: Antwerpen Roosevelt perron C3
Bus stop near the sports hall: Brasschaat Oudstrijderslei

WARNING: look out for the accessibility of the bus. Not every bus stop will be accessible.

By tram

Take the tram in the metro station Astrid (you’ll have to use the elevators) to the platform that will take you to “Merksem” with tram 2. Stay on the tram the next 12 stops, which will be the final stop.

From there you can take the bus #640 and stay on it for the next 2 stops and get out at the bus stop “Brasschaat Oudstrijderslei”.

If the elevators work, then you shouldn’t experience any trouble with the tram. Just make sure someone is with you to help with the ramp. Many chauffeurs don’t want to help.

By taxi

We recommend using “The Antwerp Rolkar”. They are the cheapest you’ll find. But you should be quick making a reservation! Here is their website (which is only Dutch, so you’ll have to translate the page).

Other taxi options you can find out on this website. It’s also in Dutch only, but you can translate the page.

By Belbus

A Belbus is a free ‘taxi’ ride that takes you from one bus/tram stop to another). When you can’t use a bus or a tram, then you can try to use the belbus. It’s a free service (usually booked out).

Here is more information on it.
