APHC stands for Antwerp Powerchair Hockey Collective. We are a Belgian nonprofit organization (VZW) based in Antwerp, created by people who are passionate about powerchairhockey and the community around it.
We organize events, create opportunities, connect people, and work on projects that help make powerchairhockey more visible, accessible, and internationally connected. But APHC is about more than organizing tournaments. We want to build a community where players, coaches, referees, volunteers, supporters and organizations can learn from each other and help move the sport forward.
There are talented players, passionate coaches, dedicated referees and enthusiastic communities all over the world. However, not everyone has the same access to training, competition, knowledge, equipment or international opportunities.
That’s where we want to make a difference.
Our goal is to create opportunities, connect people and help powerchair hockey grow beyond borders.
We want the sport to become stronger not only in countries where it is already well established, but also in places where powerchair hockey is still developing.

Through initiatives such as our Assistant Coach Development Program, we want to give coaches from developing powerchairhockey nations access to international experience, mentorship, and new ideas.

Our Referee Development Camp creates space for referees to learn from each other, discuss the game, gain experience, and build an international network.
🤝 Community Building
We connect people from different countries and backgrounds and create spaces where knowledge, experiences, and ideas can be shared.
📣 Awareness & Visibility
We want more people to discover powerchair hockey: as players, volunteers, supporters, sponsors, coaches, referees or simply fans of the sport.

In the coming years, we want to expand our international network, develop new programs, strengthen our existing events, and create more opportunities for people involved in powerchair hockey.
Our ambition is to become a place where people from different powerchairhockey communities can meet, learn, exchange ideas, and build something together.
We’re especially interested in creating long-term partnerships that can help developing hockey communities become stronger and more independent.
The word Collective is important to us.
It’s about what happens when players, coaches, referees, volunteers, families, clubs, organizations, and supporters come together.
Everyone brings something different to the table. Experience, knowledge, energy, ideas, connections or simply the willingness to help.
That’s how we believe a sport grows.

What? Our 6th international APHC 2V2 Cup; a powerchair hockey tournament in a fun and exciting format
When? 12 and 13 September 2026, from 10:00 until 18:00 CET on both days

Entrance is free. A donation is always welcome and helps us continue our work as a nonprofit organization
Support our nonprofit by making a purchase at our fundraising stand. We’ll be selling handmade postcards. You can also purchase traditional Bosnian cake, lovingly made from scratch by one of the APHC moms
There is no dress code . However, we’d love to see you wearing something red or blue, our APHC brand colours!
If you don’t need to use a wheelchair parking spot, please park your car at the furthest parking spaces on the domain
There’s two ways to get involved with the matchmaker:
OPTION 1: Did your teammate drop out? Or maybe you don’t have a teammate yet? Really want to join? You can let us know!
OPTION 2: Happy to be a teammate for someone else? You can offer yourself as an available teammate

We operate on a two-week sign-up window. Once registrations are closed, we select the players and teams
We’ll keep the tournament’s standards high, while also welcoming players at all levels
The final selection is made after registrations close
What we ask from each team: €100 per team (€50 per player)
You will also receive €20 as a gift from us to spend on your lunches.
Each team is expected to bring a referee who is capable of officiating a minimum of 4 matches during the two-day event.
If a team fails to bring a referee, a penalty fee of €50 (€25 per team member) will apply.
Right after team registrations, we’ll know which team brings which referee and how many matches each referee will officiate If we need more referees, we’ll be reaching out to the ones in our database
To make officiating financially bearable and, where possible, accessible to referees, we’ve set the following conditions:
If you officiate at least 8 matches, APHC will cover the benefits listed below:
We’ll cover 2 nights in a shared room with other referees.
The covered nights are Friday 11 September to Saturday 12 September and Saturday 12 September to Sunday 13 September 2026.
If a referee wishes to stay alone or share a room with someone else, the referee or the person sharing the room will cover the remaining portion of the room cost.
The breakfast buffet at the hotel is included when your hotel stay is covered by APHC.
Dinner expenses are at your own cost.
For each kilometre you travel to the cup and back home, APHC provides an allowance of €0,30 per kilometre.
The maximum total amount we pay is €300. Any transportation costs beyond that are your responsibility.
If you’re travelling by train, we can always check whether it is possible for us to pick you up at Luchtbal or Ekeren station.
In cases of carpooling, the referee who owns the car receives the kilometre allowance.
You’ll receive €20 as a gift from us to spend on your lunches.
The referee schedule will be created and distributed between June and August and shared on Tournify
We’ll provide a red APHC referee shirt.
And referee cards (green, yellow and red)
The rest is up to you; dress comfortably or go all out in sports style!
For the third year in a row, players and referees can book a hotel room through APHC. We work with Van der Valk Dennenhof in Brasschaat, a 4-star hotel approximately 13 minutes by car from Sport Vlaanderen Brasschaat, the sports hall of the tournament

Price: €84 per person, per night for a standard room. There are also rooms for 3 people
If you stay alone in the room, the minimum room price still corresponds to 2 people
Price Compared to Last Year: This rate is based on the price provided by the hotel. It is €8 more per person, per night than last year
Booking Process: All hotel bookings are handled by APHC. Players and referees should not book directly with the hotel
Any booking requests made directly to the hotel will be redirected to APHC

The hotel can place an extra bed in each room for an additional €84 per person. If an electric bed is required, please indicate this in the form
An extra mattress can be placed on a bed to make it easier for a caregiver. This is possible at no additional cost; simply indicate it in the form
Equipment can be arranged through APHC and delivered to the hotel. Let us know through the form if there is something you need. Additional rental costs may apply
Dedicated APHC Bathroom: APHC provides one wheelchair-accessible bathroom for players and referees who cannot safely or comfortably use the bathroom in their own room
Ground floor, at the start of the corridor. The room is reserved exclusively as an APHC bathroom and is fully accessible
One key/card is kept at hotel reception.
APHC provides reception with a list of users. Collect the key before use and return it immediately afterwards.
Please leave the bathroom clean and tidy after use. Towels and cleaning materials are provided by the hotel.
APHC bundles all hotel bookings into one clear overview, including the number of wheelchairs at breakfast, in the room and whether sports wheelchairs will be charged in the room or in the basement. They’ll be fully informed about your needs and wants
The hotel has provided a space in the basement/storage area where players can charge their sports wheelchairs if there is insufficient space in their room
There is also an accessible toilet in the hotel lobby. It is available to everyone, but it is not very large
The APHC team aims to be present at the hotel on Friday at 15:00 to welcome the first guests
This gives players and referees an opportunity to ask last questions and allows us to help with unloading when needed
We usually stay until approximately 17:15 before leaving for the sports hall for setup. Setup starts at 18:00
As a volunteer, you’ll work behind the scenes to support the tournament and create a great experience for players, referees, and visitors. You will never be left on your own. You’ll always be part of a team and receive clear instructions from our organizers

Possible volunteer roles include:
Keep track of match information, record scores and game timing, and support communication between referees and the organization
Enter match results into Tournify after every game, keep tournament standings and rankings up to date, and help ensure accurate tournament data throughout the weekend. This is a separate volunteer role
Welcome visitors, players, and teams; help people find their way around the venue; and answer basic questions
Guide cars and vans to available parking spaces and help ensure safe traffic flow around the sports hall
Sell food and drinks such as wine and cake and assist visitors in a friendly and welcoming way
Help prepare the sports hall and hockey field before the event and help dismantle and tidy everything afterwards
Drive players and referees between the airport, hotel, and sports hall using an accessible vehicle

Before the tournament, you’ll receive a personal call sheet with all the information you need for your role. This helps you know exactly where to be, when to be there and what to do, so you can feel fully prepared for the tournament
A few days before the tournament, all volunteers are invited to a short online info session. We’ll go through the key practical information, your role and what to expect during the event
It’s also a chance to ask questions, meet other volunteers and get to know the APHC team before the tournament starts
Sport Vlaanderen Brasschaat is located just outside Antwerp city centre. Below you’ll find the main ways to reach the venue, with practical information for each option.
Venue: Sport Vlaanderen Brasschaat, Brasschaat, Belgium
Travel times and public transport routes can change. We recommend checking the latest information before travelling, especially if you need an accessible route.
From Antwerp-Central: Walk approximately 3 minutes to the Roosevelt/Centraal bus area.
Take bus 64 in the direction of Brasschaat Maria Ter Heide.
Travel time: approximately 27 minutes / 18 stops.
Get off at Oudstrijderslei and walk approximately 4 minutes (350 m) to Sport Vlaanderen Brasschaat.
Total journey: approximately 35 minutes.
Indicative cost: approximately €3.00.
All regular De Lijn buses are accessible, but accessible stops and space for wheelchairs can vary. Please check your specific journey before travelling.

From Antwerp-Central: Walk approximately 4 minutes to Antwerp Astrid Metro Station.
The current Antwerp tram network is affected by metro renovation works. Temporary tram line A3 currently connects P+R Merksem and P+R Boechout, including Antwerp Astrid.
For the latest route, stops and accessibility information, please use the De Lijn route planner rather than relying on a fixed route description.
Important: The route from P+R Merksem to the sports hall involves a longer final walk. This option is therefore not recommended if you have difficulty walking longer distances.

From Antwerp city centre, the drive to Sport Vlaanderen Brasschaat takes approximately 18 minutes, depending on traffic.
Carpooling is highly recommended if you’re able to share a ride with another participant.
If you’re driving through Antwerp, check the latest traffic, parking and low-emission-zone information before you leave.

If you prefer to leave your car outside the city centre, P+R Merksem can be a convenient option.
Address: Bredabaan 965, 2170 Merksem.
From P+R Merksem, the sports hall is approximately 5 minutes by car, 9 minutes by bicycle, 15 minutes by wheelchair or 28 minutes on foot.
Parking and public transport arrangements can change, so check the latest information before travelling.

The nearest train station in the area is Ekeren.
Ekeren station is approximately 4.7 km from the sports hall by car.
The journey from the station to the venue takes approximately 12 minutes by car or 16 minutes by bicycle.
Please note: Train travel may require an additional connection to reach the sports hall and is not necessarily the easiest option for wheelchair users.

From Antwerp-Central, the cycling route is approximately 9.1 km.
The journey takes around 30 minutes, depending on speed, traffic and route.
From Antwerp-Central, the journey is approximately 8.7 km.
Walking takes around 1 hour 49 minutes.
This is a long route and is only recommended if you’re comfortable walking this distance.
Travelling by wheelchair is possible, but the route from Antwerp-Central is long.
Depending on your speed and starting point, it may take approximately 30–40 minutes from some nearby locations.
Before travelling: consider your wheelchair range, weather conditions, charging needs and the accessibility of your chosen route.
For the most accurate route, we recommend checking the route on your preferred navigation app before leaving.
For wheelchair-accessible transport, we recommend De Antwerpse Rolkar. They provide adapted transport for wheelchair users and people with mobility difficulties in the Antwerp region and beyond.
Important: availability can be limited, especially during weekends and busy periods. Book your ride well in advance.

De Lijn Flex is an on-demand public transport service that can be useful when a regular bus, tram or train does not provide a suitable connection.
Accessible vehicles are available depending on your mobility needs. If you need an accessible ride, mention this when making your first reservation.
Book early: Flex rides must be reserved in advance. You can book from 30 days up to 30 minutes before departure.

🚌 Bus — Best for a simple and relatively direct journey from Antwerp-Central. Not so accessible by your own.
🚋 Tram — Useful for reaching P+R Merksem, but check the current route because of Antwerp metro works.
🚗 Car / Carpool — One of the easiest options if you have access to a car.
🅿️ P+R Merksem — Useful if you want to avoid driving into Antwerp city centre.
🚆 Train — Possible via Ekeren, but requires an additional connection. Check the accessiblity for each station on NMBS’ website
♿ Wheelchair — Possible, but check distance, terrain, weather and battery range before travelling.
🚐 Accessible taxi — Best option when you need door-to-door wheelchair-accessible transport.
🚌 De Lijn Flex — Useful when regular public transport doesn’t provide a suitable connection.
Public transport schedules, routes and accessibility information can change. Always check the current route shortly before travelling.
If you use a wheelchair, we recommend checking the accessibility of both your departure stop and arrival stop, as well as whether there is enough space for your wheelchair on the vehicle.

The camp starts on 12 July 2027, with check-in from 16:00.
The camp ends on 18 July 2027 after breakfast, with check-out at 10:00.
Farewell Activity: A farewell activity will be planned for the final evening.
If you prefer to head home on Saturday night, 17 July, you can choose an early check-out.
Sport Domein Dommelhof: located in Pelt is the home of the camp. A sports and accessible accommodation venue surrounded by nature. It offers an environment where players, referees and coaches can train, develop, and connect throughout the week.
The domain has free parking spaces.
You can park for a few minutes near the accommodation to unload and load your things from the car.
The International Powerchair Hockey (IPCH) officially endorses our camp.
As part of the program, IPCH will be making sure coaches from development countries can participate without financial struggles.

Dommelhof is designed to host accessible camps, so shared rooms are part of the experience.
Rooms can accommodate up to 6 people, although smaller rooms with fewer beds are also available. APHC will make the room arrangements while taking your individual needs and preferences into account as much as possible.
For players who need additional space for mobility devices or more room to safely transfer in and out of bed, we will aim to place them in a room with fewer beds. All beds have enough clearance underneath for a hoist to be positioned.
Every room has a private bathroom. The 6-person rooms also have a separate toilet and bathroom, giving everyone more flexibility and allowing you to use the facilities without having to depend on someone else’s schedule.
Your room has its own private bathroom, but there are also accessible shower and bathroom facilities available in the sports hall complex.
The sports facilities are adapted for people with disabilities and include several accessible shower areas.
Dommelhof has a dedicated space where we can relax and spend time together during the week, including a bar area.
There will also be space available in a refrigerator to safely store medication that needs to be kept cool. You will have access to your medication whenever you need it.
Additional assistive equipment can be arranged upon request.
As part of our commitment to supporting the community, APHC will cover the rental costs of approved assistive equipment.
Please let us know what you need through the Collecting Information form so we can check availability and coordinate delivery before the camp.
We’ll be working with a catering company that is experienced in preparing meals for larger groups.
They’ll provide breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the camp. And from what we’ve heard so far, the food is pretty good!
We’ll also collect dietary requirements and allergies in advance so the catering team can take these into account when preparing the meals.
Imagine waking up knowing you’ve got a full day of hockey ahead. Fresh coffee, familiar faces, new teammates, intense training sessions, hard-fought matches, and plenty of moments to laugh together when the hockey is over.
That’s what camp is all about. It’s not just about becoming a better player — it’s about sharing the game, meeting people from different countries, challenging yourself, and creating memories along the way.
The camp is designed to challenge you on the court while giving you plenty of opportunities to connect, relax, and enjoy everything that happens off the court.
Expect a week filled with training, matches, coaching, scouting, meals, social activities, and plenty of time to connect with other players and coaches.
Exact daily schedules may vary throughout the week, but every day brings a mix of hockey and time to enjoy the camp experience.
Players train with experienced coaches and work on different aspects of the game.
Throughout the camp, coaches observe players during training and competition. Based on their observations and scouting, coaches draft players into balanced teams for the Summer League.
The Summer League is the highlight of the camp, where training and scouting come together in a competitive format.
Coaches select players to form balanced teams based on their performance throughout the camp.
The teams then face each other for the title of Camp Summer League Champions.
It’s where strategy, skill, and teamwork come together for an unforgettable final competition.
New for this edition: a dedicated Referee Development Camp running alongside the Player & Development Coach Camp.
To strengthen the game as a whole, we’re creating a dedicated space for referees to connect, learn, and grow during camp.
Think of it as a sub-camp alongside the Player & Coach Camp, designed specifically for officials who want to develop their skills, gain experience, and become more involved in the international powerchair hockey community.
Our community survey showed us that referees aren’t necessarily looking for traditional certification courses.
What they are looking for is connection and practical development:
Connect with other referees and exchange experiences.
Share challenges and learn from each other.
Take part in referee clinics and discussions.
Explore different game situations and rule interpretations.
Better understand team tactics and game strategy.
Build confidence both on and off the court.
Become more connected to the international powerchair hockey community.
The Referee Development Camp brings all of this together in an inspiring environment where referees can learn from each other, develop their skills, and contribute to the future of our sport.

The Referee Development Camp is for referees who want to develop their skills, gain experience, and become more involved in the international powerchair hockey community.
Participation is by personal invitation. Referees will be invited directly by Mateo or Maxime.

Our goal is to remove financial barriers wherever possible and create an environment where referees can focus on what matters: learning, connecting, and growing together.

You don’t need previous experience to volunteer with APHC. We’ll explain what you need to know, give you the information for your specific role, and make sure you’re part of a team that can support you.
Before the event, you’ll receive a call sheet with the practical information you need to know. We also organise an online volunteer information session so you can ask questions and meet the people you’ll be working with.
